The shelf life of your e-liquid or vape juice is mainly dependent on how you store them. But if you want to get the best lifespan and flavor out of your e-liquid, you need to store them the right way.

Especially during the summer days, making sure your e-liquids are safe by storing them in a cool, dark place. Ideally, you should have a unique cabinet or other location in your house where they can be out of direct sunlight and away from any kind of heat source.

But you don't have to worry, especially if you're new to the vaping world. We are going to show you some simple tips to help you store your e-liquid the right way.

1. Avoid Heat and Light

When e-liquids get exposed to heat and light, it always affects their flavor and lifespan. Don't make the mistake of keeping your e-juices on the window side or at the dashboard of your car in 80-degree weather. Instead, keep them in a cool and dry place, such as a medicine basement.

This step will avoid the molecules to heat up and begin moving faster, which ultimately leads to forming new chemical bonds because the particles start to mix. Both heat and light interacting with your e-liquid will cause the molecules to gain energy can fundamentally change the chemical composition of your e-liquid, causing both the flavor and the color to change unpredictably.

2. Store in refrigerator

You can also try storing your e-liquid in the freezer. But always note that freezing might reduce the strength and flavor of the e-juice. So when you store either in the fridge or freezer, the liquid thickens up a bit. That's why you will need to bring the bottle to room temperature before vaping with it.

3. Check the expiration date.

All e-liquids come with a shelf-life – approximately two years (but this is dependent on the manufacturer or blend). So when you order in bulk, always check the shelf-life and plan accordingly. However, remember that with time, e-liquids will undoubtedly lose its quality and flavor, and this may reduce the satisfaction and through hit you get.

4. Replace Plastic Bottles

Some e-liquids are shipped in plastic bottles and are meant to be preserved for the short term. So if you desire the right storage for a long time, you should pour these liquids into a dark glass bottle. This way, you will reduce the exposure of this liquid to light. Not only that, but the glass bottle will slow down the oxidation process and prevent the growth of mold or action of bacteria.

Another idea might be to transfer your juices carefully into glass bottles; this way, you won't be forced to sacrifice your favorite juices that come in a plastic container and switch them with another option.

5. Keep Away from Pets or Children

Although many e-liquids come with childproof caps, you don't have to feel comfortable keeping them around children, especially the challenging ones. Your pets also break or destroy the bottles of e-liquid when you keep them within reach.

More so, remember that nicotine liquid if flammable and can be poisonous if consumed directly. So ensure you keep your e-liquids away from your kids or pets. You can place them in a cupboard or on a high shelf to prevent easy access.
