Minimum Tobacco Age In Maine Going To 21

The minimum age to purchase tobacco in Maine is going from 18 to 21. The new age restriction will go into place as of July 1, 2018. The new law in Maine will apply to vapor products. The law does grandfather in any Maine resident who turned 18 prior to July 1, 2018. The Maine Senate voted in favor of the new age restrictions 29-5. The House voted in favor of the age restriction 90-44.
