WHAT IS VAPE JUICE?

Let’s take this from the top. What is vape juice? First off, vape juice, e-juice, and e-liquid are all the same thing. There is no distinction between them. You will probably also hear people say “juice”. They all mean the same thing. Just different names. It all refers to the liquid that is converted into vapor by an electronic cigarette device. Now we’ll get a bit more into the weeds of ‘what is vape juice’.

WHAT IS VAPE JUICE?

There are many types of vape juice. To understand the different types of vape juice you need to have a basic understanding of vape juice ingredients. Vaping liquid is made up of:

  1. Vegetable glycerin
  2.  Propylene glycol
  3. Food grade flavoring
  4. Nicotine (optional)
  5. Water

Now, despite the names of the ingredients, there is really nothing unusual. Vapor liquid ingredients are pretty basic. As part of our crash course into ‘what is vape juice’, let’s delve into what these ingredients are.

VEGETABLE GLYCERIN AND PROPYLENE GLYCOL

VEGETABLE GLYCERIN AND PROPYLENE GLYCOL

Propylene glycol, or PG, has been around for a century plus. We have been using it for a number of things. It is GRAS, which stands for generally recognized as safe by the FDA and CDC. In fact, the CDC has studied propylene glycol for a number of years. PG is used for stage smoke and theater workers and entertainers have all had long term exposure. No long-term effects on human health have been noted. Additional studies on vaping are ongoing.

Some people may be sensitive to propylene glycol. It can irritate some people’s skin and eyes. The sensitivity can usually be reduced by switching to a vape juice that has more vegetable glycerin that propylene glycol. Vegetable glycerin, or VG, is milder than PG.

Vegetable glycerin is a clear, odorless liquid that is derived from plant oils. Usually the palm plant family. Like PG, you will find VG in foods, lotions, cosmetics, medications, and more. PG and VG are not “bioacumulative”. That means that levels of PG and VG do not build up in your body and become toxic. They are filtered out by the liver and kidneys.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VAPING PG AND VG

The difference between PG and VG essentially boils down to how it vapes. Both are food grade additives used in everything from food to cosmetics to soaps and toothpaste. As a general rule of thumb, PG liquid carries more flavor and delivers a stronger hit. By contrast, VG generates more vapor with a milder hit and not as much flavor as a PG liquid. Today’s vape juice flavors are a blend of VG and PG. The ration varies and how you vape plays a big part in determining the right ratio for you.

vg vs pg vape juice
  • 70 % PG e-liquid - used with standard 1.0 ohm and above e-cig devices. For MTL and beginner vapers.
  • 50 % PG and 50% VG e-liquid - 50/50 blend is generally used with higher performance vapes with 1.0 ohm and up atomizer resistance levels.
  • 70 % VG - perfect combination for both flavor and vapor performance with today’s sub ohm vape mods and tanks.
  • Max VG - less flavor, more vapor. Made for cloud chasing.

Freeman 120 ml e-liquid is a 70 / 30 VG / PG blend. What does that mean?

Quite simply it means that Freeman’s juice is made up of 70% VG and 30 % VG.

Why did we choose that ratio?

Because we found it to be ideal for delivering flavor to vapor ratio.

The VG provides amazing, dense vapor cloud while the PG makes sure that you fully enjoy our vibrant flavors.

70/30 is a beautiful sweet spot.

NICOTINE IN VAPE JUICE

NICOTINE IN VAPE JUICE

The nicotine in vape juice may be derived from tobacco plants or, sometimes, synthetic sources. The nicotine in an e-liquid is measured as a percentage by volume or in milligrams. For example, a 3 mg nicotine level is 0.3% nicotine. You may see a vape juice label use either a measure in mg or as a percentage. The amount of nicotine in e-liquids and vape juice should be accurately labeled. Unfortunately, this does not always happen.

in one study in Utah, researchers went to 94 vape shops and tobacco stores to purchase large quantities of e-liquid. It was found that 61% of the e-liquids tested were at least 10% different than the claims made on the label. That is because too many e-liquids are being made in makeshift production sites by people who don’t actually know what they are doing. It is important to buy professionally manufactured vape juice from companies that know what they are doing.

When you buy Freeman, you can trust that the nicotine in the vape juice is what we say it is. We know what we are doing. Freeman’s professionally staffed, cutting-edge lab facility carefully tracks and tests each batch for ultimate quality and accuracy.

CHOOSING A NICOTINE LEVEL

Choosing a vape juice nicotine level depends on a few factors. There are three Freeman e-liquid nicotine levels to choose from

0mg

0mg

Maybe you just love the taste, you are not alone, 0mg is perfect to get full flavor or for mixing.

3mg

3mg

If you vape a lot and are using a powerful device, a 3 mg level should deliver the satisfaction you are looking for.

6mg

6mg

If you like a bit more punch in your vape, the 6 mg level will hit the spot.

Because we use only the best, USA sourced vape juice ingredients, the dense vapor, and rich flavor are off the charts. Add it all up and you are getting an amazing vape. All of the best ingredients, including nicotine, precision blended. Always accurate.

*Nicotine is not appropriate for children or teens. Please check the tobacco laws in your area. Vaping is intended for adult tobacco consumers. Pregnant women or women who are nursing should avoid nicotine. Nicotine is a stimulant. An alkaloid found in nightshade plants, most notably, of course, the tobacco plant.

VAPE JUICE FLAVORS

The next vape juice ingredient we want to take a look at is the flavoring. In general, the flavoring makes up 1% to 10% of the total volume of an e-liquid. Vape juice flavors are very concentrated so it does not take much. In fact, you don’t want the flavor to be too strong. Flavor recipes and ratios are similar to cooking recipes. The best flavors are finely tuned, tested, and steeped for distribution and saturation.

The source of the flavoring is very important. Some e-liquid brands and do it yourself DIY vape juice makers get their flavors from the internet. The problem is that you can’t always know the true ingredients of a random flavoring based on the label. The FDA permits food/flavor manufacturers to hold back select, proprietary information. For that reason, it is so important to buy vape juice from professional vapor brands like Freeman.

At Freeman, we have trained and Ph.D. chemists operating in an ISO8 lab. Our labels are accurate, tested, and true. We know everything about all of our spectacular flavors. Every bottle of Freeman is steeped for 7 days before shipping. Steeping allows all of the ingredients to blend and integrate evenly.

E-LIQUID CARTRIDGES VS BOTTLES

E-LIQUID CARTRIDGES VS BOTTLES

The e-liquid and vape juice you buy in bottles is the same. Typically, the e-liquid found in disposable e-cig cartridges is a PG blend. When a cartridge is used up, you can’t use it again. That’s why most vapers prefer vape juice bottles. You get way more for your buck.

Here’s some quick math. An e-liquid cartridge usually has 1 ml of e-liquid and costs $2 to $3 each. A 120ml bottle of Freeman vape juice is less than $20. That’s the equivalent amount of e-juice that you would get in $200 to $300 worth of cartridges! A refillable e-cig and Freeman Vape Juice 120ml bottle gets you maximum mileage for your dollar.

For years now, vapers have been paying $15 to $30 for one bottle of 30ml e-liquid.

Freeman is taking a sledgehammer to that arrangement. Now you can get a professionally blended, USA made, pre-steeped, top-quality vape juice for a fraction of what vapers have been paying for years.

Natural Mango

First impression: Pineapple Overton with natural mango exhale. As it steeps the pineapple has become subdued and the ripe mango flavore comes through with the faintest strawberry on the exhale. Good stuff.

Warm sugar cookie

Vanilla inhale with a warm sugar cookie exhale. Really Pleasant surprise, it's getting better half way through the bottle and would also mix well with a strawberry vape but is great solo.

OMG, TRUE VANILLA

The best vanilla cream, the butter adds an awesome taste to it, the best, I recommend it highly.
