Look who is back! The Wismec Reuleaux Tinker review will get into the details and find out if the latest Reuleaux is ready for prime time. The Tinker is a triple 18650 mod that fires from 1 watt up to 300 watts. For those of you who have been vaping for a while and are familiar with Wismec, you will notice that this version of the Reuleaux looks different. The display screen has been revamped and the exterior is covered with a vinyl type material and a rubberized plastic grip.
In fact, the exterior with the added grips really changes the look compared to previous Reuleauxs. Plus the new exterior looks really good. It is a good looking mod. Not to mention that because of the grippy exterior, the Reuleaux Tinker has an enhanced ease of use.
Vapers will have the option of buying the mod itself or in a kit with a color matched Wismec Column vape tank with mesh coils. There are three color options. For the spoiler alert, the mod is great and the tank is okay. Now, let's get rolling with the details.
Wismec Reuleaux Tinker Review
Let's start the Wismec Reuleaux Tinker review with the basics. As mentioned, this is a triple 18650 battery powered vape mod. It will fire from 1 watt up to 300 watts. In temperature control mode, the range is 200 F to 600 F. As you can see in the picture above, the Tinker is an attractive mod. Looks are always subjective and I don't spend a lot of time with appearances but I think most would agree that this is a nice looking mod.
The exterior has a vinyl type material and on the back is a rubberized plastic section for grip. Also, take not of the fire button. Yes, it is slanted outward for a trigger style. The next thing that is noticeable is the display screen. The display is full color and very clear. Each of the five circular display sections on the screen indicates a different value. For example the wattage, atomizer resistance, time, amps, and voltage. There is also the option of switching what is displayed including a puff counter.
Finally, this mod feels great in the hand. The ovular shape is wide, as it needs to be to accommodate three 18650 batteries. but despite the girth the device is comfortable to hold. The contours and grip make for easy handling. Now, let's talk specs.

Using The Wismec Reuleaux Tinker Vape Mod
Using the Wismec Reuleaux Tinker mod is straightforward. Although sub ohm mods are not recommended for vaping for beginners, for an intermediate vaper looking for a first sub ohm device, the Tinker is suitable. It is also suitable for experienced vapers looking for a device that has more power.
To get started with the Reuleaux Tinker, click the fire button five times to turn on the device. To access the menu, click the fire button three times. The menu system has the following vaping options:
- Variable wattage
- Temperature control in nickel, stainless steel, and titanium
- TCR
- RTC
- Pre-Heat
In addition, the menu allows you to customize the display. The display shows wattage, amps, resistance, time, and the user can use the menu to change what data goes in the display circles. It is possible to place different values in the display circles. For example you can take out the amp display and put in a puff count.
- Press up and down button at the same time to lock settings.
The best way to vape the Tinker is in variable wattage. The temperature control is decent although not as stable as some other devices. Also, please note that when choosing the temperature to vape e-juice, it is a good idea to check the wattage because the factory pre-set in TC mode is 300 watts.
- Note: if you click the fire button 10 times, the mod will briefly display the internal temperature before reverting back to normal display. Chances are you will not need this. But if the mod feels like it is running hot, then this is a handy feature to check.
Reuleaux Tinker Buttons, Battery Door and 510
The buttons on the Tinker are very well done. During the testing for the Wismec Reuleaux Tinker review, I pressed the buttons repeatedly looking for wear. The durability is impressive, as is the clickiness.
The 510 has a spring loaded center pin. There will be some overhang with any atomizer over 25 mm in diameter.
I have to give Wismec credit for a very well designed battery door. The battery door features excellent venting for safety and is easy to open and close. Once the door is closed, it stays firmly shut with not rattles.
Inside the battery compartment, the batteries touch each other. So make sure all batteries use have wraps intact. Don't use vape batteries that have a torn wrapper.
The USB port can be used for both battery charging and software upgrades. However, we do recommend using a separate battery charger to charge any vape batteries. We can't confirm if using the mod to charge batteries results in balanced charging. A separate charger is best. If you do use the mod to charge batteries, it takes about 3.5 hours. And you can vape while it is charging.
Reuleaux Tinker Review Build Quality - 8.5/10
The build quality of this triple 18650 mod is excellent. In fact, build quality earned the highest score in the Wismec Reuleaux Tinker review. The device is solid. The trigger style fire button is perfect for finger firing. The up and down buttons cleck perfectly. Plus it has an excellent display screen with color and clarity.
Moreover, the battery door is very good. The door is easy to open and close and stays firmly shut with not battery rattle. Also the 510 is very well made. The 510 is not centered, but the reason they put the 510 on a corner was so that they would not have to make the mod taller. I like the size so I think they made the right call.
Wismec Reuleaux Tinker Chipset / Firmware - 8.2/10
The score for the chip would be higher if the mod was a bit more stable in temperature control. This is not my favorite mod for temp control. But for variable wattage, which is how I vape 90% of the time, the Wismec Tinker chip is fantastic. The mod fires fast and the menu is fairly easy to navigate.
In the course of the Wismec Reuleaux Tinker review, I found myself using the preheat function extensively. I have always been a fan of the variable power curve. The power curve allows the user to control the specific wattage of each second of a vape. Normally, you set a power curve for 10 seconds of fire time. I don't know about you but I don't take 10 second vapes! I usually come in at five to seven seconds. And really, I only want the wattage boost for the first two seconds. As a result, manually programming eight seconds of a puff is not typically necessary.
- Firmware upgradeable
- Variable wattage, TC, TCR
- Multiple display options
- Fantastic boost feature
With the Reuleaux Tinker, the boost mode allows the user to program the wattage for the first one or two seconds. It is quick and easy to do and gets the job done. For example, if vaping at 80 watts, I would set the first two seconds to 90 watts. It was perfect. Consequently, I gave bonus points for the total Reuleaux Tinker review score.
Vaping Comfort and Ease of Use - 8.4/10
As a triple 18650 mod, you might be expecting something bulky and unwieldy. But the Reuleaux Tinker is actually compact and comfortable. It's not as small as a dual 18650 like the Innokin Proton Plex. However, it is the smallest triple 18650 I have tested. With batteries loaded, the device weighs 250 grams or 8.8 ounces. While it does fill the hand, the rubberized plastic grips and the trigger finger fire button really work.
I usually vape in the 70 to 100 watt range. That is a normal everyday vaping area with low resistance mesh coils. Having the extra 18650 battery provides noticeably longer battery life. Therefore I gave some points for the longer lasting vaping that can be enjoyed thanks to the extra battery capacity of a triple 18650. Plus, during the Reuleaux Tinker review, I would occasionally switch to a
Wismec Column Vape Tank Review
The Wismec Reuleaux Tinker kit comes with the Column vape tank. This is a sub ohm tank that uses 0.15 ohm mesh coils. Specs as follows:
- 25 mm diameter
- 40 mm tall
- 6.5 ml vape juice capacity with bubble tank
- 2 ml vape juice capacity for the European version
- Stainless steel construction
- Top fill slide
- 810 15 mm drip tip
- Large bottom dual airflow
- Stainless steel 510
The Column tank comes with a spare bubble tank. The TPD European version has a straight glass tank with a 2 ml vape juice capacity.
Column Vape Tank Pros and Cons
PROS
- Very well made, excellent build quality
- Massive airflow (maybe too much!)
- Fantastic top fill slide
- Good flavor and vapor
CONS
- Coils are tall and slow to saturate
- Dry hits when vaping heavily
The issue with the tall coils is that they take some time to saturate the wick. If you chain vape, which is not often in most cases, there are some dry hits.
The final verdict on the Column tank is a 7/10. It has mesh coils, and the flavor and vapor are good. However, the tank is not at the level of something like the Freemax Mesh Pro vape tank. If you do get the Column tank with the Wismec Reuleaux Tinker kit, it will be fine for casual, vaping but not chain vaping or cloud chasing.
Wismec Reuleaux Tinker Review Summary
Wismec Reuleaux Tinker Review final score - 8.4/10
The tinker is the best Reuleaux mod to date. Especially the build quality and comfort level. The chipset is great for variable wattage vaping and the boost feature is excellent. It fires fast, maybe not as fast as the Voopoo Drag 2, but fast enough. Overall the Tinker is a good buy and vapes great.
Who is this mod for?
Who is the Reuleaux Tinker for? First off, this mod is great for people who spend long days away from home. The extra battery adds to the total capacity so you don't need to worry about travelling with extra batteries. So if you are driving a truck for 12 hours a day vaping at 80 watts, no problem.
For cloud chasers, the Tinker is great because it has the ability to fire up to 300 watts. As a triple 18650, obviously it is more of a handful than a dual 18650, but it is not overly bulky. Although it is a bit much for a pocket! I wouldn't call it compact and portable like some mods, but it is surprisingly comfortable.
For temperature control vapers, the Reuleaux Tinker will vape in TC mode or TCR with stainless steel, nickel, or titanium. However, it is not the best in temperature control. This mod is best in variable wattage.
That's it for the Reuleaux Tinker review! Because this mod passed our standards, we might carry this mod for sale. We probably won't carry the kit but the mod is a winner. As always, the best vape juice for vaping is Freeman Vape Juice! We always say that, of course! While you are here check out our latest flavors and deals on vape juice!
